Japanese Aikido Brands
Aikipro.eu is the official supplier of several Japanese brands specialized in Aikido items. Not everybody can be supplier or official reseller, especially not of Japanese brands. At this moment, only a few brands are accredited by the Aikikai Federation (7 according to our source) for carrying the Aikikai logo. With 4 out of 7 brands, we have a reseller license; we can therefore deliver all items of:
Many Japanese Aikido brands are over 100 years old and are closely intertwined with the development of Aikido. For instance, Iwata has been, exclusive supplier for the Hombu Dojo for years and has closely followed all trends and developments. The Japanese brands are specialized in:
- Finding and maintaining the right traditional workshops with the best quality and craftsmanship.
- Listening to the “market” so products can stay up-to-date.
- Continuing to discover and apply high-quality materials.
- Improving already good products.
Japanese brands are less good at successfully selling their beautiful products outside of Japan. Only a few brands have their own webshop, but these webshops often do not excel in usability and availability of information. Furthermore, you will have to deal with high transport costs in addition to import costs (Customs), which need to be paid upon delivery at home or by invoice afterwards (often at least 20% of the purchase value).
(Online) resellers fill this gap. There certainly is a great demand for high-quality Aikido products in the West and people are even prepared to pay more for them. Resellers offer a connection between the Japanese brands and the Western consumers. They offer information services and service in the required language. Moreover, there are no hidden costs. Within the EU, consumer rights are very well covered online (money back guarantee and such), which offers extra trust.
Other Aikido Brands
Besides Japanese Aikido brands, Aikipro also sells brands from Brazil, China, Germany and Poland. These products do not compare to the big Japanese brands, but they do offer an inexpensive alternative. Furthermore, it is a matter of taste and what suits you. For instance, the aikidogi from Brazil are made for the climate there and very suitable for hot summers here.
